Here are a few of my favourite birth videos to inspire you to have a positive experience – however your baby’s birth happens.
Hypnobirthing for a positive home water birth
Things I love about this video
- the romantic, calm environment – perfect for boosting the hormone oxytocin, which helps labour go smoothly
- how the midwife stays calmly in the background – she knows things are progressing smoothly so gives mum the space she needs
- how the birth partner calmly supports mum with reassuring words and light touch massage.
Hypnobirthing for a positive hospital birth #1
Things I love about this video
- even though it’s a typical hospital room, the couple have dimmed lights and created a calm, homely environment
- how powerful the breathing and visualisation techniques are for mum
I’m not sure why she gives birth on her back though… this typically makes things harder as you don’t have as much space in your pelvis or the help of gravity.
Hypnobirthing for a positive hospital birth #2
Things I love about this video
- how mobile and active mum stays, gently swaying and moving with her surges
- it shows how a doula can provide extra support for a woman, and how they can work really nicely alongside a birth partner
- her partner’s reaction to baby arriving
Hypnobirthing for a positive birth centre birth (water birth)
Things I love about this video
- how amazingly calm mum is
- how her birth partner so calmly and gently supports her (even in the birthing pool with her… this is of course optional!) with massage and encouragement
Hypnobirthing for a positive induced birth
Things I love about this video
- it shows how versatile hypnobirthing is and that you really can use it for any situation
- that even when things don’t go as you might have hoped, you have still have a positive birth
- that inductions can be a positive experience and just how powerful hypnobirthing is
Before you watch….
This little one arrives a bit early at 34 weeks. He’s born healthy and breathes fine but does spend some time in intensive care afterwards (as planned) so the video can be a little bit emotional.
Hypnobirthing for a gentle / woman-centred caesarean birth
Things I love about this video
- it shows how calm and special a caesarean birth can be
- it shows how versatily hypnobirthing techniques are – mum is in such a deeply relaxed state
Before you watch…
This video does shows some quite close-up scenes of surgery.
Get in touch for a free, no pressure initial chat
I’m always happy to have a chat (or an initial consultation if you’re feeling business-like) about hypnobirthing, how it can help and whether it would be right for you…. and even if you’re not sure what to ask me!
